Oooh! Guess who got married nine years ago?

From Scratch

This whole cooking "from scratch" thing is great, but the dishes are killing me!  I unloaded the dishwasher this morning, and then made pancakes (from scratch) to go with my pork sausage that I had already made (from scratch).  Loaded up the dishwasher again and Vaughn unloaded it while I was out working in the yard.  Made lunch ("just" a sandwich) then later on cooked chicken leg quarters (for Annie's cat food...from scratch) and Mexican rice (from scratch) to go with the sour cream chicken enchiladas I made last night (from scratch).  Paired those with some  refried beans (from scratch) and a margarita (with real limes...from scratch) and it was almost like being at Chuy's.  Just needed some really thin crispy tortilla chips and some creamy jalapeno to be almost perfect!  Then I cleaned up the kitchen AGAIN, and started the dishwasher AGAIN.  I already made tortillas (from scratch) and just need to roll them out and Vaughn will cook them on the comal and then I'll have to wash the pastry mat and the comal and then I'll be done in the kitchen.  Whew!  I've already worked off my margarita buzz (darn it!).  I'm all scratched out.

Charlie loves getting belly rubs from Daddy.

Before...$1.00 roller shades from the clearance section at Lowe's.

After...plantation shutters from The Louver Shop that we ordered for our nine year anniversary present to each other.

We got them for the whole house (except for the two sliders).  I ordered curtains from Country Curtains for the sliders and will take pictures of them when they are installed.  This is probably my second favorite anniversary present, the first being my ring.  I have wanted plantation shutters in every house I have ever owned, and although they are expensive I think they are worth it.

I was out with the pugs and stopped to talk to the neighbors.  I wasn't paying attention to the dogs and the next thing I know, I feel a warm, wet sensation on my right leg.  That's right...Charlie peed on my leg.
